And yet another older Chang Jiang that we restored.

The bike has a rebuilt BMW R80 (800cc) motor with electronic ignition. The motor is polished to a chrome-like finish, along with a 4 speed with reverse transmission.

We powder coated (the frames)and painted the bike. We mounted pre-war style tail lights to the back of the bike, and an old VW marker light to the sidecar fender.

We shifted this bike from a Honda Shadow 750 V Twin, a classic cruiser with a cool sporty look.

We built a subframe for the bike for greater comfort when racing on either the road or highway.

We also added an all steel Donghai sidecar to the bike. The Dong Hai factory manufactured the sidecars originally for the PLA, so the quality is of high-standard.

Yes, believe it or not this IS a Chang Jiang 750.

The frame is stock, with the stock plunger rear suspension, now exposed.

The front end is a Springer.

The fat wheels and tires are also borrowed from the classic American Cruiser.

We bobbed the rear fender and fabricated a custom stainless steel exhaust.

The seat is also a custom piece from chrome with leather inserts.

Powering this bike is a BMW R75/5 motor coupled to a 4 speed transmission.

As good as it looks, it rides even better.

Lightweight, nimble, but with plenty of scoot.

This bike started out as a plenty used 1967 R50/2. We stripped the bike down to bare metal and did a frame up restoration.

Then we added a 1000cc BMW motor and 5 speed transmission.

We then installed an all steel Donghai sidecar, extending the length 10 cm for the owners rather tall passenger.

We rebuilt and polished the motor, transmission, and rear drive.
