BMW sidecars on tour
A Ride to Simatai Great Wall, China
It is hot in Beijing Downtown, so we made a Ride to the Countryside. Simatai Great wall is a well known Destination, but this time we also drove to the "other Side". Yinziyu is a small Village which is guarding the Valley and this Part of the Great Wall since hundreds of Years. Forgotten to the World. Starting a CJ 750 on a cold dayThis CJ is well mannered. It starts up correctly (the rider knows his motorcycle well), and it goes into first gear without a hitch. Gotta love it, not all of them are set as well as this one. Special thanks to Greg Stewart of ScooterBob's EuroBike, and to Jason Means for posting it on YouTube.
Nice CJ, well finishedThis CJ 750 was completed by Big Bad Bill in Beijing. It has a clean look, nice blue paint, good chromes, nice engine polish. The engine outputs a nice rumble at idle, the bike is well set.
Big Bad Bill's bikes are among the nicest in Beijing. His website can be found at http://www.cj750.net. Big Bad Bill's website gives a lot of background information on the CJ, and on the Chang Jiang scene in Beijing. Worth visiting, no doubt.
CJ BobberThis video shows you something rare: a CJ customized as a bobber. Not legal in Beijing, but totally awesome! Check the compression at kickstarting. It's zero. Typical of the original 24-hp motor of the CJ. Try this with a 1960-70s BMW motor... Not the same story.
Putting around the beach on a CJ750Some of this vid show the bike from close up, but the low resolution kills the details.
Nice CJ slideshow with many customsNice close-ups of the CJ. This slideshows has good footage with many views of the custom builds output by this Brazilian/Floridian shop, Super Toni Motos.
